Wolseley UK looking for graduates

Wolseley UK looking for graduates
Wolseley UK's 2014 Management Training programme, giving graduates the opportunity to join a FTSE 100 company and become part of the next generation of managers, is now open for applications.

The popular programme last year received over 2,300 applications and combines regular training sessions, with online training and job shadowing and ensures trainees are equipped with the practical, hands-on experience required to be a Wolseley manager.

Wolseley UK is part of Wolseley plc, the world's largest trade distributor of plumbing and heating products and a leading supplier of construction materials. Wolseley UK has 950 branches nationwide and 6,500 employees.

Vacancies on its Management Training programme start in October 2014 and begin with a nine-month placement in a branch, where trainees will learn how to do business at the trade counter.

Another three-month project-based placement follows. Trainees are then appointed to a deputy branch manager role for their final placement, with support continuing for a further six months.

Nick Scott, Head of Employee Engagement, Wolseley UK, said: "We believe that our graduate scheme is one of the best in the construction industry, offering a fast-track route to management along with the training required to be successful in a managerial role. By attracting top talent into our business, we are growing our own next generation of leaders.

"We offer genuine career progression, a competitive reward package and fantastic training and development opportunities for our employees.

Management trainees are supported throughout the programme by their placement manager, who assists in day-to-day activities; a coach from the senior management team, offering advice and guidance; and a mentor; many of which are former graduates themselves.
