Ashridge Business School Partners with Social Media Company to Boost Business in China
Ashridge Business School and China Value, the Chinese equivalent to the business-oriented social networking site LinkedIn, have partnered to launch a new degree programme to develop the skills of Chinese executives and entrepreneurs.
The joint Executive Masters in Management programme is the only partnership of its kind between a Chinese social media company and a top UK business school.
The programme, which is delivered virtually, has been created to meet the growing need in China for business professionals with leadership and practical management skills, combined with a solid understanding of global business culture.
A key benefit of the programme is that it is built around a series of assignments that are related to the participant’s own organisation, delivering immediate benefits to the individual and their business.
Virtual delivery, rather than lecture-room based learning, means that the learning materials can be accessed from anywhere in the world and at any time without the cost, environmental impact or inconvenience of travelling. This enables busy executives to work flexibly, fit learning into their day and support a better work life balance.
In addition to three themed modules People, Processes and Perspectives, the programme includes a residential element at Ashridge, is tailored to meet the requirements of the Chinese market and contains three specific customised modules:
· Business English language skills
· Cultural understanding of global business - Western and Chinese business cultures
· Capital investment - this module will be delivered by China Value.

This partnership will enable Chinese professionals to gain a qualification from a world-class business school. The programme enables students to engage with the international community and Ashridge alumni, develop business networks and gain different perspectives on business challenges. The qualification costs £21,000 and the first group of around 25 students from across China is expected to begin their studies in August 2013.
