Investment Challenge

A fresh eFinancialCareers Investment Challenge, with sponsorship from Bank of America Merrill Lynch, is now open.  Students from UK universities and business schools will gain invaluable insight into the world of professional investing and experience the pressure of making real money decisions.

The Challenge is open to finance students from any UK University or business school.  They must compete against one another by trading FTSE 350 shares, using a £10 million fantasy fund over the course of one month. Students will learn about the financial markets while testing their performance against students from other universities.

Undergraduate and masters students can register online at www.efinancialcareers.com/investment-challenge .  The game started on 28 March (9am GTM) and will run until 27 April 2012 (3pm GTM), registration closes on 12 April 2012.

Three prizes are up for grabs in two separate categories: students graduating in 2013 and those graduating in 2014.  In both categories, top prize is £250, with the runner-up prizes being £150 for the second place, and £75 for the third place. The top 3 entrants in each year group (graduates 2013 and 2014) will be invited to send their CVs to Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

James Bennett, Global Managing Director of eFinancialCareers, commented:

"From today, students in the United Kingdom get a chance to launch a career in finance, by participating in the Investment Challenge. The Challenge provides a valuable learning experience for students by allowing them to find out what it is like to be a portfolio manager.  They will learn to use the same analytical and decision making techniques that professional money managers use.  Bank of America Merrill Lynch has also recognised what a valuable channel the Challenge is for identifying the next generation of investment wizards, and we are delighted to be working with them.”

Catherine, head of Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s Campus Recruitment said: "We are delighted to sponsor this year’s Investment Challenge. It provides students with an excellent opportunity to use key employability skills such as data analysis and decision-making. We hope that the students taking part find this a great learning experience."

Investment Challenge is administered and run by eFinancialCareers Limited.  By accepting these terms and participating in Investment Challenge, students also accept the Terms and Conditions of the eFinancialCareers.com website at http://efc.timetotrade.eu/tandc.php (the "eFC Terms ") and the competition rules, which are available at http://efc.timetotrade.eu/21/rules.php#  (the "eFC Rules”).
