Open call for entries to the 10th edition of the Innovact Campus Awards

January 2012. Now in its tenth year, the Innovact Campus Awards are again challenging Europe’s most innovative students, young researchers and entrepreneurs to demonstrate that their start-up is the most innovative and daring!


The winner will lay claim to all they need to kick start their fledgling business: visibility across Europe, expert advice and a financial reward of up to 5000 euros.

The annual European-wide competition takes place at Innovact, the European Forum for Innovative Start-ups, organized by the Chambers of Commerce in Reims, France and is supported by the European Commission. Applications must be submitted, individually or in teams, before February 20, 2012.

Innovact Campus Awards: a real springboard for European start-ups
The Innovact Campus Awards 2012 are open to all students and young researchers from Europe, whether their project is part of their training or not. Projects can be submitted during the design phase or even if already launched. The jury, made ​​up of professionals from all over Europe - business leaders, journalists, scientists – will reward the candidates who have demonstrated innovation and imagination in their creative process, whatever the product or the activity.
 
As every year, the finalists will be invited to attend free of charge the 16th edition of Innovact,  the European Forum for Innovative Start-ups on March 27 and  28, 2012, in Reims. This is a unique opportunity to make known their plans to more than1,500 professional participants from 20 countries, and share their experience with more than 100 innovative companies from Europe.
 
At the forum, the jury will meet the selected finalists at their presentation stands and proceed to select the three most promising and innovative projects. The judges will take into account the project’s audacity, professionalism, creativity and sustainability. This year’s winners will receive up to 5000 euros in prize money and will benefit from the visibility, awareness and communications campaign in the European press.
 
 
Last year’s winners
In 2011, the grand prize was awarded to the STERY-HAND project, presented by Tamas Haidegger, a PhD student at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (Hungary). STERY-HAND is used for measuring the sterilization of a surgeon’s hands before entering the operating room. The second prize was awarded to the VISIBRAIN project, presented by Nicolas Huguenin, a young graduate from ISEP (France). VISIBRAIN is a professional online tool for monitoring collective-based intelligence. In third place, Dorothy Goffin, a research assistant at Gembloux AgroBiotech,  University of Liege (Belgium), the IMONIC  project  provides a method for obtaining innovative prebiotic products. Attracted by the high quality of finalists, the jury awarded a special additional prize to Justine Noiset, a student at the Institut Sup Biotech Paris, for an early detection system for cancers diagnosed through urine.
