The AstraZeneca Operations Global Graduate Associate Programme

Theres one thing that binds every single person together: health. Whether youre rich or poor, young or old, health is your link to the rest of humanity. By making drugs that ease pain, cure illnesses and extend lives, we strive to strengthen this link. And to create a healthier world.

To do this, we need to continually collaborate with our health partners. To exchange new ideas about old challenges. And to come up with innovative solutions. All of which our Operations team does on a daily basis, bringing together people, equipment, services, supplies and places. As one of the largest areas of our business, Operations employs nearly 12,000 people at 18 sites in 16 countries and is ranked the best in the industry.

As part of our graduate programme a three year mentored scheme where youll have real responsibility from day one you'll work in one of five business areas:

  • Supply Chain
Overseeing demand, supply and packaging between customers, distribution networks and regions as well as developing and implementing forecasting processes.
  • Global Quality
Monitoring manufacturing operations to ensure all standards and compliance issues are met, and overseeing good manufacturing practice.

  • Procurement
Purchasing products and services, while researching and helping to select potential sources of materials

  • Engineering
Managing technical projects and systems to ensure that downtime is minimised, and providing technical guidance and coaching to team members.

  • Information Systems
Managing our landscape of services, applications, infrastructure and processes and delivering new capabilities.

What we offer

Youll gain in-depth exposure to a complex area of our business. Subject to a satisfactory assessment at the end of Year 2, you'll do a 12 month capability consolidation role in Year 3.

Each role carries real influence, not to mention real opportunities to develop your skills and work towards professional qualifications. The more you learn about how our business operates, the more responsibilities you'll be given, and the more chances you'll have to directly influence patient health.

How you'll develop

As a graduate on our programme you'll benefit from broad professional training and work experience. You'll also be introduced to an extensive network of pharmaceutical professionals, and be given a comprehensive understanding of the industry itself. Moreover, you'll learn how to navigate in an international and diverse organisation, and you'll be given the opportunity to influence people and projects early on.

Every graduate is given a mentor from day one of the programme someone with extensive business experience. Mentors not only support you in whatever way they can, they also challenge you to get the most out of your role.
